As of today (4/12/2013), Tom's books are available for purchase as eBooks via WaveCloud.  Use the WaveCloud link under each of the books in the column on the right side of this page to purchase it through WaveCloud.

Hippocampus is Now Working on the Nook

The nook version of Hippocampus is now working!  If you already downloaded Hippocampus, you can get the latest version by archiving the book in your library and the unarchiving it.  When it returns to your library, it will be the newest version.

Thank you for your patience in this matter!  I test both Hippocampus and Echinodea and they are  fully functioning.  However, if you run into any problems, please email me at tomtancin@gmail.com

Issues with Nook Version of Hippocampus

It has come to my attention that readers can't get past the table of contents of the nook version of Hippocampus when downloading from B&N.  However, the Kindle version of Hippocampus seems to work well.  The nook and kindle versions of Echinodea are also working (I tested them!).  It's just an issue with Hippocampus when downloading from B&N.

This problem is being looked into and will be corrected ASAP.  I'll post an update once it's fixed.

The Paperbacks

I received paperback copies of Hippocampus an Echinodea in the mail yesterday.  They look so great together!  I personally love the covers!!  What do you think?

Want my Authorgraph?

Did you buy one of my books as an eBook and want it signed? Do you plan to buy one but would rather get the paperback so that it can be signed? Or do you just want my autograph? If you answer yes to any of these, problem solved. Hippocampus and The Man in the Moon are now on Authorgraph--which means I can personalize a message to you,  autograph it, and then it gets sent to your reading device. And Echinodea will be there too. It's FREE!! (except the cost of the book) Find out more: http://www.authorgraph.com/authors/tomtancin

Praise/Reviews for Hippocampus

"Spectacular, adventurous and magical is what sums up this awesome book...this book reminded me of a combination of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Eragon and that is saying a lot. Tom Tancin is really an awesome writer who came up with such a great idea for a book. His writing style really fits into this young adult genre and the world that he has created is just fantastic. It is like he has taken many different elements and weaved them together to create an amazing fast paced book. "  5 out of 5 stars
-The Bookshelf Review

"This book is a full on adventure. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish.  I could not put it down. I am a woman reaching the age of mmmm 40 and I enjoyed it.  I love a good romance and this was a break from the norm for me but I would gladly take another break." 4.5 out of 5 stars    -Confessions of a Bookaholic Facebook

"Tom Tancin takes the myth of Atlantis and gives it a modern twist, creating a fresh and exciting adventure story. Action, mystery, magic, adventure and suspense fill the pages of Hippocampus." 4 out of 5 stars    -Treasured Tales for Young Adults

"All I know is how much I cannot wait to read the next book.  ..This story is definitely addicting. I will be eagerly awaiting the sequel."  -All Things Me

"This really seems like book that a teenage boy would love, full of action, adventure and a damsel in distress. Kudos to Tom Tancin for writing a book that hits on a reading population that may be getting overlooked in the current YA trends. Love triangles are cool and all, but maybe not so much from a young teen boys perspective."    -Monique Morgan, author of Pursuer

"It reminds me of the old Indiana Jones movies mixed with Harry Potter and geared towards teens."    -Mel's Book Blog

"Watch out Harry Potter, here comes Trey Atlas. An imaginative beginning of what could become the next YA epic series."
-Kidd1 on Authonomy.com

"This is fantastic. It's faintly reminiscent of Percy Jackson, but somehow punchier and more immediate. I definitely think this has got what it takes to take the market by storm. Fabulous work."
-A Knight on authonomy.com

"Great premise for a broad legendary canvas- there's nothing like a lost civilisation to fire the imagination.. The writing is solid, flowing and sharp. the characters are crafted well and people you want to journey with."
-Owen Quinn on authonomy.com

"What great characters, written into a highly imaginative storyline. Very much like the contrast you build between Trey's world and the beginning it makes the crossing over very powerful. Great story well told."
-Famlavan on authonomy.com

"This is a fantastic reworking of ancient themes and modern interests."
-Jane Bain on authonomy.com

"I love the world you've created. Your writing is descriptive, clear, and to the point. Excellent imagination. Being a writer of fantasy/sci fi myself, I try to read and support as many well written ones on this site that I can. I hope this work does well and people give it a chance."
-Natalie Jones on authonomy.com

"It's easy to understand why this is getting strong support from young readers. The swashbuckling Knights take on a sorceress and her love, battling to his death and her escape. Such bitter tragedy leaves so many possibilities for fair Aerian. And then, the plan is added. Brilliant."
-Star Gazer on inkpop.com

"What an original, well-crafted story! You must read a great deal of myth and old-world stories, as much as new-age ones, to combine the two themes to make your great tale. You write everything well, from dialogue to the paragraphs surrounding it / drawing it all together."
-Kevin Wong on inkpop.com

"Your premise is so incredibly unique and your writing is generally strong as well. this is a really clever and original book. you have plenty of great things going for you here. I like your characters, especially Aerian (beautiful name btw) This was a great read."
 -Carrie L McRae on inkpop.com

"Great story! I love the quick pace and all the action."
 -Jason Hewett on textnovel.com

Help Spread the Revolution!

Do you know the #1 method for spreading the hype of a book?  The answer is--word of mouth.  Readers are absolutely crucial to the popularity of a book.  Not just because they buy the book (which us authors are forever grateful for) but because they talk to other readers and recommend it to them (something we're also grateful for).  So if you believe in The Atlantis Revolution, then help spread the Revolution by completing one, or a few, or all of the tasks below.

1.  Tell a friend (or a few).  Tell them that a new YA fantasy is hitting the market.  Tell them it looks/is_______(insert adjective).  Tell them the reviews are fantastic!  Tell them to visit www.tomtancin.com and www.theatlantisrevolution.com for more info.  And if you've read the book, then tell them what you thought about it and convince them to read it too!

2.  Spread the Revolution on Social Networks.  Add Tom Tancin on Twitter/Facebook/Goodreads--See the Social Profiles' box on the right.  Then tweet, post on Facebook, add the cover image on Pinterest, put Hippocampus on your Goodreads' shelf, etc.  Or go to the Facebook profile for Tom Tancin (see the side box for social profiles) and share some of the things from the Facebook profile.  Use the cover, the ads, the characters, the trailer, etc to spread the word.

Change your profile pics, backgrounds, cover images, etc to the Hippocampus cover or images that promote The Atlantis Revolution.

This is the perfect size for the cover image on the new Facebook timeline.

3.  Buy, Read, Review.  The last part is very important.  Add a review (it can be short) to Goodreads, a blog, link it on twitter, and/or put it on the site where you bought the book (B&N, Amazon, Lulu).  Reviews are important so please make sure to explain what you liked (or didn't like) about the book.

4.  Add the sequels to your Goodreads list.  All of the sequels are already available on Goodreads.  And also vote for them in the "YA Novels of (Insert year 2013, 2014, 2015)" lists.  This a great way to increase the fan base of the entire series.

5.  Tell a student/librarian/teacher.  Hippocampus is very popular with the middle school students that read it so tell someone that is directly in contact with students.

6.  And of course, send your thoughts/questions to Tom at tomtancin@gmail.com or on Facebook, or via twitter @tomtancin.  And keep checking this site for updates on The Atlantis Revolution.

Hippocampus--"Spectacular, adventurous, and magical"

Spectacular, adventurous and magical is what sums up this awesome book by Tom Tancin.  In my honest opinion this book reminded me of a combination of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Eragon and that is saying a lot. Hippocampus has practically everything in its pages. It has sword fights, good vs. evil, a prophecy, sorcerers, and a whole new Atlantean language. Hippocampus really was like reading a combination of all my favorite books with just the right elements added in.

Atlantis Meet Indonesia

After six months of keeping it top secret, IT'S OFFICIAL!  Hippocampus (Book One of the Atlantis Revolution) is being translated into the Bahasa Indonesian language by PT Bentang Pustaka.  PT Bentang Pustaka is an imprint of Mizan, one of Indonesia's largest publishers.  Mizan is responsible for translating such best-selling books/series as The Heroes of Olympus, The Maze Runner, Divergent, The Fallen Series, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, Steve Jobs The Exclusive Biography, and many more.  Hippocampus will be available in the Bahasa Indonesian language in paperback and eBook formats.

This is of course a very exciting step in my writing career.  I am now officially published by a major foreign publisher and my book will be translated into another language.  It's so cool to be able to say that Hippocampus will be available in 2 languages.  I'm hoping that more foreign publishers will follow and I'll be able to add to the language list.  I want Hippocampus to be available to as many readers as possible and this is a huge step in the right direction.

The English version of Hippocampus will be available in ebook form and paperback (only at Lulu.com) in April 2012.  The Indonesian publication date is to be determined but is expected in late 2013 or early 2014.

Stay tuned!!

Mnemosunero (Chapter One of Hippocampus)

Royal Palace – Atlantis
Aerian woke with a gasping breath. Her face, drained of all color, contrasted her sweat matted black hair and gray robes. If her dream was true, something that had been predicted eleven thousand years ago was in progress. She listened to the world around her to figure out if she should believe the dream that woke her. But, being deep in the heart of the palace basement, she didn't hear anything at all.
